What PEGS is built on

One infrastructure. Three layers of trust.

PEGS is not an app with a database behind it. It is an ESG data infrastructure built in deliberate layers, each with one responsibility — so that no single system is ever the registrar, the operator, the assessor, and the auditor at once.

Products

The surfaces people touch — the My Estatez app and this website. They present and capture; they never own the record.

Operating systems

The systems that run PEGS day to day — executing operations, governing standards, assessing sustainability, and supporting the people who use it.

The trust spine

The neutral foundation: a Universal Registry that issues and holds every identity, and a permissioned distributed ledger that remembers every proof. Designed to be governed beyond PEGS itself.

When the system that issues an identity, the system that operates the business, and the system that audits the record are deliberately separate, no participant — including PEGS — can quietly rewrite history. That separation is not a feature of our infrastructure. It is the point of it.

Identity and proof

Independent identity and proof, governed by UATC.

Identity · ORIGIN

ORIGIN is the Universal Registry — the source of identification for the PEGS ecosystem. It issues every public identifier: the UAIN (Universal Asset Identification Number) for assets and the UEIN (Universal Entity Identification Number) for verified owners, tenants, managers, and partners. Identifiers are permanent, carry no personal information, and survive every change of ownership.

Registration is consent-driven. No one is registered with ORIGIN without their consent — signing up and completing verification is that consent. The personal identity behind an identifier is held encrypted and access-controlled; the public record contains identifiers, never personal data.

Proof · BASTION

BASTION is the proof of existence — a permissioned distributed ledger that anchors a cryptographic fingerprint of every significant record event: registrations, transfers, certifications, assessments.

BASTION stores the proof, not the record — no document, no personal data, only the evidence that a record existed, when, and that it has not been altered since.

Governed beyond PEGS

The trust spine is owned and governed independently by the Universal Asset Trust Consortium (UATC). PEGS participates only in separately recorded capacities and cannot bind UATC or guarantee membership, licensing, accreditation or certification. Purchasing PEGS services confers no preference in any UATC decision.

The assessment engine

SOPHIE: the standard, applied at scale.

SOPHIE — Sustainability Optimisation and Planning for Holistic Impact and Efficiency — is the AI engine that applies the PEGS ESG Framework: extracting evidence, validating data, identifying gaps, and preparing draft assessments at a speed and scale human-only assessment cannot reach.

SOPHIE applies the standard; SOPHIE is not the standard.

The PEGS ESG Framework defines what is measured and how it is scored — SOPHIE is one delivery mechanism for it. SOPHIE does not issue certifications independently, does not override the methodology, and does not produce assurance opinions. Monthly indications are SOPHIE-delivered; assessed and certified scores always carry a certified PEGS assessor's signoff, and certifications an independent assurance provider.

Research and development

Separate from SOPHIE, and separate from the standard: Akashic AI is the research line into AI that learns from governed knowledge — sources, permitted uses, and history traceable; uncertainty preserved; consequential decisions subject to accountable review. It is research, not a released service, and integrations are described only once deployed and verified.
